TCMI Research
& Evaluation

Effective research and evaluation can impact every aspect of museum practice.

From September of 2021 to May of 2022 I worked with the Children's Museum of Indianapolis Research and Evaluation (R&E) team to help the museum accomplish its mission by evaluating the success of various programs, exhibit spaces, interactive elements, and more. Utilizing evaluation methods including survey, interview, card timing, timing and tracking, and observation, the R&E team was able to analyze and provide data on numerous aspects of museum work in an effort to better the institution and for summative reports. As a member of the team, I created tools to analyze the "Early Learner's Guides" for families with children ages 0-5, to observe a new element in the "Playscape" gallery, and to examine the strengths and challenges of a new exhibit space in the renovated "Dinosphere" exhibit.
