Collections Care

Collections are often the foundation of museum interpretation. By caring for our collections, we can help historic items continue to tell their stories with their communities into the future.

Through an internship at the Eiteljorg Museum of Native American and Western Art as well as through community collaboration projects, I have had the opportunity to care for collections ranging from historic textiles to ornithology mounts. In addition to cleaning and storage of collections items, care of collections materials has included temperature and humidity monitoring, integrated pest management, condition reporting, inventorying, as well as the installation and deinstallation of exhibits.
